2019 Genesis G70 Trim Levels

As any BMW 3-Series alternative should, the 2019 Genesis G70 comes available in a range of configurations that pick from 5 trims, 5 packages, 8 colors, 2 turbocharged engines, RWD or AWD, a manual or automatic transmission and more, allowing for a reasonable level of customization.

Starting from $34,900 you get a standard 2.0L turbocharged I4 engine, mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission with power sent out back. Inside some highly sought after features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, hands-free smart trunk, class-leading advanced active safety technology, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with a 7-inch multi-information display up front, leatherette surfaces and 3 USB ports (2 up front, 1 rear).

Simply put, its a level of bang-for-your-buck rarely seen in the performance luxury compact sedan segment.

If that wasn't enough, for $2000 more you can get AWD or $1,000 on top of that or a 6-speed manual that only comes RWD. Alternatively, you can sacrifice the manual for more power and take a big leap in price to $43,750. Here you get the twin-turbocharged 3.3L V6 with 8-speed auto, producing over 100 more ponies than the 2.0T, now at 365-hp and 376 lb.-ft of torque.

At its peak, the 3.3.T Sport Package with AWD or RWD is what you want. $49,500 might be a tough starting price to accept but its well equipped with 3-series rivaling features like an adaptive suspension and 255/35R19 wide summer tires on the rear drive wheels to complement the power output.

All throughout the mentioned G70 range are Advanced, Elite, Prestige, Dynamic and Sport packages that tailor the G70 to different demographics. RWD versions of the 2.0T and 3.3T equipped with Dynamic (limited version) get LSD and 19" summer wheel/tire combo. Sport adds sport quilting, LSD, dark chrome grille, copper headlight bezel and dark tint tail lights. Prestige adds head-up display, Qi wireless charging, Nappa leather, microfiber headliner and Heated rear seats.

Wanted to add that both the Design and Dynamic trims are only available with the 3.3T and they are only offered in 1 color each. Seems to be a fairly minor difference in fuel economy between the RWD and AWD models.

It was unfortunate the special trims didn't last long. I think Genesis could have done more to stir interest in the G70.
German automakers have done at well at that and it seems to be a low cost effort if my math from adding up the parts is correct.

The upcoming G80 could preview some new variants that could make their way to the G70 for the next MY. Since its looking like a complete redesign its probably where we will see some brand new features and options.

As far as design goes I have my doubts we'll see much given the G70's unique design already but some features like those new headlights would be a great addition.

It will be a few years before we see any significant changes on the G70 but they've delivered a great looking sports sedan with the G70 imo. They also need to distinguish it from the rest of the lineup so borrowing too many design cues could be a mistake.

You're probably right because with all the positive sentiment about the G70 out right now it would be a feature no one asked for, but sort of want.
I can tell you right now, not having it wouldn't change my opinion on the G70, maybe enhance it a bit.

We should hold out and wait and see what kind of aftermarket kits come out for the G70 as well. Hyundai has always lacked this support, but hopefully that changes with their premium models.

Its an interesting time, we haven't seen kits like what Japanese and German brands have. Specific brands cater to them and them only. That might be the case with Genesis but ONLY launching sedans into a dying sedan market isn't helping, if it were Genesis utility vehicles then i'd have hope.

No Genesis models have really hit the sales numbers needed for third party suppliers to get on board with aftermarket support. That could easily change with the G70 though, especially if they are able to make them more readily available.
