0-60 runs in the G70

Has anyone tried doing 0-60 runs in their G70 as yet?

Mid 4-second range seems to be what most sources are suggesting. I imagine real world testing will reveal more precise numbers and on board like this get interesting as more nuanced information gets shared with the numbers.

I find it interesting that the G70 has a better claimed 0-60mph time than the Stinger, even though the share the same powerplant. I know they are both just estimated, but Kia is saying 4.9 seconds.
I bet upgrading from the factory Pilot Sport to Super Sport tires will help and contribute to improvements in other areas.
I believe that the Stinger is heavier and larger than the G70, so that's going to have an impact on performance. Its for those exact reasons in head to head tests that the Genesis has been found to be a better planted and more manageable car in an out of corners.
Proves that aerodynamics play a big role in performance times. I have already seen some aftermarket tuning kits for the Stinger, so hopefully since its the same powertrain we see those offered on the G70 too.
Fortunately modern designs are proving that to be aerodynamically sound you don't have to sacrifice a lot. Sometimes the only time you sacrifice on design is to meet safety regulations.
Its only a matte of time before we see some performance chip modules for the G70 and I would imagine they will yield some decent gains. The Stage 1 chips on the Stinger are suggested a 35+hp bump as well as a 30% increase in torque. Best part is they are just plug and play so there is no fiddling with engine remaps or the ECU.
I'm interested in seeing how well these engines are built.
Toyota is known for building incredibly strong bottom ends and engines that just take whatever you throw at them, tuned or not.
Genesis on the other hand can benefit from a similar approach if they want to attract a rich tuning culture and vehicles that last.
Do we know what the implications are in regards to the factory warranty with those kinds of chip tunes? If you were to unplug/remove it prior to warranty work would Genesis be able to identify that its been used? And since this is specifically for the 3.3 V6, do you really need more than 365hp in a sedan?
Yes, more power.
No, you probably shouldn't modify factory equipment.

Any changes you make are grounds to void warranty. Some people are able to get away with it. Some have friends at dealerships that will make it a non-issue.

For the rest of us its like Russian roulette.

I think one fact that's overlooked about the performance side to the G70 is how it sounds from the inside. Test drove a 3.3 the other day and experienced something similar to a 0-100 run you can find on youtube. There's also a one take from thesmokingtire that lets you experience some of it. I would post links but most posts are required before i'm allowed.

for that reason i'm actually happy we have the option of speed dependent volume control (sound settings menu) but haven't tried it for myself as yet

has anyone here messed with those settings yet?

here's where you can find it
Thanks. I'm not much of an audiophile and will prefer to hear the exhaust. In fact I plan on going with an aftermarket once they're available.

I found a few options already but they don't sound great.
While this video doesn't specifically show the 0-60 time for the G70, it does give us a good look of what it's like going down a 1/2 mile drag strip. Aside from how fast he was going I was a bit surprised by how good the interior is at muffling the engine noise.

A bit of a long shot but I'd love to see companies like Hennessy to start offering tuning packages for the G70. Genesis G70 HPE_ _ _ ??

Imagine the 0-60 times then!

No need, just follow what Stinger guys are doing because it will flow over here...

Impressive gains from the Stinger. It seems the tuning crowd will be more so with the Stinger for now.

I'll wait a bit longer to do performance mods. Maybe a G70 performance model will happen?

Here's a good video of the G70 driving in a straight line from 0-160km/h. It didn't even look like they were flooring it on the track.
