2019 G70 Edmunds First Drive

Just wanted to share this first look at the brand new G70 from the folks over at Edmunds. The improvements that Hyundai continues to make with this brand is impressive, and it's a safe bet that they'll be on par with German rivals in the coming years. Will was very impressed with its driving dynamics, and just how much equipment it has considering its price. An important note is that this model comes standard with a 100,000 mile warranty.

Getting Impatient

Any idea when we can actually purchase a manual tran G70 in the US?

Being a 2019 product odds are at the very least you should be able to pre-order one right now, if not, you can get on a waiting list.

Orders for these should fly through the roof.
Genesis has yet to confirm a delivery date for the G70, but I would imagine they'll release more information in terms of availability and pricing in the coming weeks. Early reports suggest we could see it August/September.
Seems to be getting pretty high praise out the gate, though its a shame none of the first drives I've seen are with the manual. I really hope this model isn't over looked solely for the fact its a $50k Hyundai.

Deliveries have been happening in Asian markets which is a sign of how much closer we're to deliveries in western markets.

Heard from a friend that U.S. dealers have pricing information and all key details, now its a waiting game.
If deliveries have already begun in Asia, then they must have some sort of embargo over it. Haven't seen any real footage/information around the car aside from some early test drives from auto publications.
at this point there's no embargo because why else would the G70 be listed on the Genesis website (in multiple markets) with everything but a configurator?
