Is everyone that is experiencing this problem driving the same car, meaning year model, motor and transmission?
What year is your car? What motor is in your car? And is it the automatic or manual transmission?
I am looking at buying one myself, with the 2.0L manual transmission and would very much appreciate knowing more about your car and situation. <> Thank you in advance <>
I have a 2019 G70 2.0T automatic.

Thanks for the information. If it does happen again when I forget to disable it (!), I will definitely tell the dealer.
I have a 2019 G70 Advance (base trim). I personally dislike the auto-engine stop feature and typically disable it. Few times I’d forget to disable, my car would shut off at red lights and not turn back on. It would take 5-15 ‘full engine start’ attempts to get back on. Told the dealership about this and they quickly determined to change the starter. They said Hyundai has received many reports about this with the G70 and the starter is the absolute culprit.
Hasn’t happened again in 5 months since the starter change. Not even when I keep the auto-stop/start feature active.

I don’t have this button in my car. It’s a 2021 G70 RWD 3.3T. Is this button/feature specific to the 2.0T model?

Hi, I have a 2019 G70 2.0L I4 T-GDI with only 8k miles. I have the Idle Stop-Start issue. Happened few times. When I told the Genesis service team on my 7500 service, they said, they gave not heard about this. Looks like it’s a common occurrence. I got stuck on the lights yesterday. This is dangerous. Glad someone helped me to push it to safety. Genesis needs to address this before someone gets hurt.

Was this covered under normal bumper to bumper warranty?

I have 15k miles on mine in New Hampshire. It started happening a few months after I got it. When the issue happened it wouldn't let me restart the car for a few minutes leaving me stuck on the road and in some pretty unsafe situations.
I have the exact same issues. Genesis couldn’t recreate the problem. It’s happened at traffic lights, in driveways etc … it’s a leased 2019 g70 2.0 prestige. I don’t know what to do🤬

After driving this car for two years, I had this engine failure happen at a red light. I have a 2019 Genesis G70 With 18,000 miles on it. It was a terrifying experience. I pressed the “Help” button and after awhile the phone was answered. I explained that I was in a dangerous spot with a six year old in the car. I wanted to know what to do. The advisor couldn’t have been worse! He leisurely asked me for my VIN # and how to spell my name. ( It was my understanding that this information is shown on their screen as soon as they answer the call.) After almost 10 minutes, he suggested I DRIVE to a Hyundai dealer. During this time I continued to try starting the car, finally it started and I drove home. I called the dealer. No one answered the Genesis service line. I left a message stating how upsetting this incident was. No one called back.
Never again, Genesis.

So they ended up keeping my car for the weekend and it happened to them a couple of times. They changed the starter and the problem has been gone since.
Just like to ask. Is this the Auto-Stop on the brakes feature? Or the feature that automatically shuts down your engine while waiting at a light. I have that disabled and have never had a problem with the Auto stop function. Had the car for 19 months!

EXACTLY! Top time I’ve been stuck was at a light for 15min extremely dangerous cop called a tow truck and I was finally able to restart it ((I pumped the brakes and it finally turned on)) so I canceled the tow. & drove it to the dealer— they couldn’t recreate the issue— I videotaped it on June 2nd and showed them this time they are keeping it for the weekend. I just knew I couldn’t be the ONLY ONE having this issue!
My son and I have 2019 G70s bought them brand new with approximately 15,000+ miles each and the same exact thing happened to our cars, his 3x, mines 2x. And the dealer cannot figure out the problem. It's very frustrating!!!!
