The list price was $43,240 less $1,000 for a competitive model trade in (BMW). I had diligently determined the trade in value for my car. The salesman gave me a story about not being permitted to discount such an “in demand” car. I didn’t buy that story, of course. Eventually, after much negotiation, the top line stayed at $42,240, but I was given $1,500 to $2,000 more for my trade in than it was worth. I don’t know what their game was, but I got the deal that I wanted. They had to trade with another dealer about 50 miles away to get the color and options that I wanted. Thank goodness for the $45 band-aid kit. I couldn’t live without that option.?.welcome to the forum
how much did you end up paying out the door for your elite?
any plans to add modifications and/or accessories in the coming months/weeks?
My BMW originally listed for $58,000 in 2012, but I bought it certified pre-owned for $34,500 when it was 3 years old. I decided that I no longer needed to have a convertible, and the potential repair costs for an out of warranty BMW. The only other car that I considered was a Kia Stinger. I did like the hatchback, but it was larger than I preferred, and not as refined or sporty as the G70.Congrats Garypsu and welcome to the forum. Will be interesting to see how many other BMW owners make the switch to the G70. Tough to ignore the lower running costs and incredible factory warranty offered by Genesis. Snapshots taken by my driveway security camera, so not the best pics.Any pics you can share?
Amazing to see how many BMW defectors there are right now.
Looks great. Love that rim design.Snapshots taken by my driveway security camera, so not the best pics.
Between the heat, cold, and rain in the northeast, I didn’t put the top down all that much. It also was not fun on highways - the noise and the smell. I’ve had about ten convertibles over the years. I’m 73 now and still a “car guy”, but I wanted all of the autonomous and safety features that my car didn’t have. It wasn’t an easy decision to get rid of the BMW. I can always let my wife drive and stick my head out of the sunroof. ?Looks great. Love that rim design.
Out of curiosity, what made you swap a convertible for a sedan?
This is what I will miss by not having a convertible - driving on the Atlantic City Boardwalk. The Miss America “Show Me Your Shoes Parade”. Miss Vermont in 2017 and Miss Utah in 2018.Looks great. Love that rim design.
