Rough Road Warning Alert won't go away

1194 Views 20 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Circle W
I just found this forum and searched my issue and didn't see posts related. My wife's 2022 G70 started yesterday displaying a warning notice where the tachometer is stating "rough road ahead drive carefully". It started as we started the car yesterday and were just driving on regular roads in northern Virginia. It alerts every 15 to 30 seconds and won't stop. I looked through everything in the settings on the dash and don't see anyway to reset it. I unhooked the battery for 30 minutes which was on old way to reset vehicle computers with no luck. The car has just over 17000 miles and has never been wrecked or anything. There doesn't appear to be any damage to any of the front sensors in the grill. I figured I would reach out here before going to the dealer. David

Mine started doing this yesterday too. Odd. I also just started getting some kind of warning about the haptic steering wheel.
Thanks for the reply. My wife asked if the car had some kind of over the air update as my Grand Cherokee did this a few years ago and screwed the GPS up. I'm not seeing anything about it online so I guess I'll reach out to the dealer next week and schedule an appointment. David
I think it’s weird that it happened on the same day out of the blue.
this has also happened to me out of nowhere.

When did it start on your car?
literally out of nowhere. I drove to target after work, then started to drive home from target and it started immediately. But before it started, my Nav told me it needed the maps updated. I hit the “don’t remind me again” button for the first time, and that’s actually when it started. I usually just ignore that notification. Not sure if that has anything to do with it though.

I read in other forums that all you need to do is update your Nav with a usb and the correct files, but when I tried this morning, the system update portal was down.

Was it just the other day, on or around 5/8? Mine exhibited the same behavior, I forgot that I had silenced the warning about the map being out of date, but exact same thing happened to me.

Same day it started for me! Thanks. I'm going to try a software update tonight.
I called Genesis Customer Care and the agent told me that they're getting lots of calls and the issue for everyone started on the same day. She said she and the other agents have been trying to talk with engineers and retailers trying to figure out what is going on, but they have no news yet. She suspects that the software update will help and that my car may be more than one update behind. The latest software is not out yet, but she suggests seeing what version I'm on and seeing if there is a newer version and trying to upgrade to the latest available.

Even more annoying.....G70 updates aren't available at the moment. A tech said all the other Genesis car updates are available, just G70 is offline. I'm sure the new update is being tested to make sure it fixes this problem.

Hey, I’m actually driving to work right now and it’s not happening anymore. Have you drove today?

Still happening on mine but my software is really old, I checked it and it’s from 11/15/2021.

Just spoke with Genesis Customer Care. They said if you're having the problem you should call in, but they also asked me if I have enabled over the air updates. I had not. So they said go to the following link and allow over the air updates and it should try to update without doing the USB update.

Called Genesis again. They said software is estimated to be available on 6/4/2023. Seems like a long time to wait for this thing to go away, but in the meantime they suggest a head unit reset.

Thank you for contacting Genesis Customer Care regarding your 2022 Genesis G70.
To complete a head unit reset in your vehicle please follow these steps:

1. While the vehicle is on, locate the Reset button (tiny hole) along the row of radio buttons and use paper clip or similar object to press button until display screen goes blank. Release the button.
2. Once the screen returns, press just the SETUP hard button to bring up setup menu on vehicle display screen.
3. On the display screen, select 'Connected Services'.
4. On the display screen, select "Activate", and/or "Activate/Reconfigure".
5. "Enrollment Successful" will come up once complete, press ok.
6. Test Genesis Connected Services, remote commands or navigation request for functionality.

Same year make and model, and ours randomly started doing the same exact thing yesterday as well.
