Slow stop, brakes grabbing too much, or heavy downshifting?

2019 G70 3.3T, 7K miles.
I have noticed that when I slowly come to a full stop, the last 10-5 mph of the stopping are rather "jerky." It feels as though either the brakes are grabbing too much considering I am only lightly pressing on the brake pedal, or the transmission is heavily downshifting. Had the car inspected by Genesis and they say the it is normal transmission functioning causing the grabbing, an nothing is wrong with the brakes. Like to know what your experince is when making similar slow stops? Thanks.

It’s normal (occasionally fairly agressive) downshifting.
Happens almost all the time. Just had car into service to check, and they also said it was normal. I guess I am late to the game in realizing that the tranny in the G70 sort of sucks! But, nonetheless, i do love the car.

Yes it's normal, but most noticeable when engine and tranny are not up to temperature.
My car has about 5K miles on it. I get some vibrations in the steering wheel when I brake firmly from about 60mph. It is different than what you're describing but I was going to mention it when I take it in. Not sure if anyone else has noticed this or if it is normal.

Car was taken to Hyundai oday with the same issue. They noticed the same when riding with me. To fix on warranty next week!

Not normal, Genesis mechanic rode with me and believes its the rotors or pads doing this grabbing. Only 9000 mi on car. May replace on warranty next week!

Got news for you ITS NOT NORMAL! This is not caused by downshifting. Been there done that! After 4K miles the grabbing got so bad they refaced ALL my rotors. Problem solved. I hope everyone reads this post.
Only problem is I'm back in at 12K miles with it starting up again. It gets progressively worse and the rotors need to get hot after a few stops for you to notice the steering wheel shaking even with gradual stops.
Are we looking at defective rotors

Ok, at least my techs agree with me. Just been told they're going to completely replace all the brake rotors.
Not in stock so i'll have to come back but at least they'll be new rotors. Everyone check with your dealers. Sounds to me like they're aware of this brake problem.
There were no questions asked!
I have the same problem, it feels like warped rotors. I've been living with it for a while, have 20,000 plus change miles, and I was thinking of just replacing the rotors with slotted or cross drilled rotors. Any thoughts on this?

Doesn't sound like you're out of warranty. Go complain, let the dealer drive the car. Tell to make sure the brakes are warmed up and you're at least doing 40,mph. That's when its very noticeable. I did that and the mechanic agreed, they resurfaced the front rotors. Drove the car again then told me STILL NO GOOD .. They had to do the back rotors as well. Absolutely no grabbing, shaking or steering wheel vibration - all gone just smooth stopping.
However its back again after about 8k more miles. I only have 12k miles on the car. No complaints from the dealer. I'm getting new rotors installed this week.
My impression is there are defective rotors out there or cheap knockoffs. Hard to believe on a Genesis though. This is why I went to this forum originally to see if others were having the same problem.
Took it into Hyundai and they resurfaced the rotors. Still having same problem. Maybe they never did the rear rotors. can it be the pads also?
