Something like this would have been far more successful years ago, as viewership of the NFL has been steadily decreasing over the past few seasons. Allocations for their cars are still quite limited and there are many dealers in my area that don't have a G70 on the showfloor.
Hyundai has been hard at work reworking their dealership network, so that shouldn't be as big of an obstacle as it has been with their previous models. I agree that its on a closed course where you are really going to see the merit of the G70.
I think Hyundai was just looking for another way to get involved with the Super Bowl since they decided to bow out on their sponsorship renewal. They've clearly recognized that this event doesn't bring in the eyes that it used to.
The E-Tron GT is 1.) fully electric and 2.) rumored to start north of £100,000, so it sits in an entirely different class than that of the G70. I admit its a sharp looking sedan, but doubt that anyone will be cross shopping between these two cars.
