While working for the same company for 32 years, I had company cars from GM (Buick Skylarks and LeSabre, Chevy Impalas, Pontiac Bonnevilles and Grand Prixs,) Ford T-Bird-not the cool one, Mercury Sables, Plymouth Fury...and such middle class cars.) However, when I retired at 60, I bought the company car (Grand Prix) and a new 2000 Nissan Pathfinder. Two years later, sold the GP and got a new 2002 325i (the classic E46). Then sold the PF for a new 2006 BMW Z4 soft top. Held onto the 325i until 2013 and got a 2013 Cadillac ATS. Not becasue it was a Cadillac, but because it was meant to replace the driving characteristics of the E46, which it did, but better. In 2017 I sold the Z4 for a leased (my very first leased car...with no regrets leasing) MB C-300 coupe. A beautiful car that was more luxurious, but sporty enough. I still have the ATS as my BMW replacement, but now have the 2019 Prestige/Elite 3.3T G70. And, I have to say that at 80 years old, this is the best driving and most powerful car I've ever had...just hope i don't kill myself enjoying the new found power.
