As part of their long-term review of the G70 Cars.com looked at "6 Features Our Genesis G70 Doesn’t Have That We Wish It Did."

In that article the 6 features they mention include:
1. No Adjustable Suspension On Non-Dynamic/Sport Versions
2. Proximity Keyless Access
3. No Wireless Apple Carplay
4. Power Trunk Lid
5. Low-Speed Lane Centering
6. Capless Fuel Filler

Reading this article got me thinking, do you wish the G70 came with any of these features or is this just nitpicking?

On the flip side of that, are there any features that you absolutely need to have on your G70?

I like all of the above. In addition, for my 2.0, I’d like to be able to defeat idle stop and go as the default, and also maintain driving mode that was set last.

It a long shot but a performance trim would be great. Seeing the Veloster N gives me hope but there's been no word so far.
The Veloster N is a pretty exciting move for sure. I'm holding out on the possibility of a performance version of the G70 as well. I think it would be a great contrast to the really luxurious models in the Genesis lineup.

The only feature from the Cars.com article that would be valuable to me is the proximity keyless access. I love being able to just pull the handle and the door automatically unlocking as long as I have the keyfob on me. It seems minor but I'm having a tough time getting used to always having to push that button. Also, I want sensors on all four doors, not just the two front ones.

The only other "feature" I wish the G70 had was quad exhaust (and somewhat related to that, a better exhaust note).

I get where you're coming from, it's incredibly convenient having the doors open without using the keyfob.

As for the wireless Apple Carplay, I got a carlinkit adapter. It can convert Wired CarPlay to Wireless! Without the need to connect the cable every time I want to use the Carplay feature.

  • A manual transmission is my number one desire. I don't care for all of the new technology that drives and brakes the car for you. Blind spot monitoring is a good feature but not necessary, as is a back-up camera. I also wish they would get rid of the tablet looking screen stuck on the dash. Isn't the direct heat from the sun going to destroy them?
  • And personally, I would rather have the 3.8L naturally aspirated v6 in it like my wife's 2012 Hyundai Genesis sedan has. That motor has been great for us.
